WorkSafeBC adopted selected exposure-limit and substance-definition changes from June 20, 2025. The published decision covers recommendations from several ACGIH editions, including solvents and antimony trioxide. It also identifies substances whose treatment stayed the same.

Two examples are antimony trioxide at 0.02 mg/m³ as an inhalable eight-hour time-weighted average and cumene at 5 ppm as an eight-hour time-weighted average. Epichlorohydrin’s revised recommendation matched the existing British Columbia value. These examples do not reproduce the complete adopted table.

The June chemical-limit record links the provincial implementation date with its sources. The Board resolution precedes that implementation, while the consultation outcome identifies benzene as excluded from this adopted batch.

Match names and definitions during an update

APT’s practical interpretation is to compare both the value and the substance definition when updating an exposure register. A changed isomer description or particle-fraction notation can affect which laboratory result belongs against an entry.

Later substance-specific decisions need separate checks, including the subsequent benzene consultation. WorkSafeBC jurisdiction must also be confirmed for the workplace; these decisions do not establish a common exposure table for every Canadian province or mining regime.
